Welcome to the Summer Camp for aspiring Filmmakers, writers, directors, actors, and cinematographers! We are super excited to be offering 3 different options for summer camp this year. You can choose from June 19-23, July 10-14, or August 14-18. Each week is $225. Camp runs from 9-3:30, and we do offer early drop off and late pick up for a small fee of $10/day, we just need advanced notice please! We will provide bottled water and some light snacks, so please make sure your camper brings their lunch each day. Camp will take place each day here at Safehouse Studios. Our address is 301 South Elm Street in Downtown Greensboro. Prior to the first day of camp, you will receive pick up and drop off instructions. Depending on attendance, camp will be moved to a secondary downtown location. The more campers the better so bring it on!
What should you expect your camper to learn? Let’s start by saying that Safehouse Studios is an award winning full service Video Production House. Being an active Production House, your camper will experience working on PROFESSIONAL INDUSTRY STANDARD EQUIPMENT. We will shoot with Canon C300 Markii cameras, and we utilize Arri and KinoFlo lighting as well as Kessler jibs and cranes. Throughout the week, your camper will help develop story ideas, create a script, cast actors (fellow campers and collaborators!), shoot and direct the scenes, and edit to a finished short film. We will hold a screening at the end of camp for their work! This camp is for rising 5th graders and up.
Because we are an active working Production House, there will be rules…… We will send a list of housekeeping and rules prior to the start of camp. Nothing crazy, just like no running or loud talking in the halls. And please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have.
